On the wings of a butterfly.....

Well helllllooooooooooooo !!!
Goodly New Year to you all ! Well all the festive humdrum is well and truly over. The decs are down felix is sulking as no more toys to play with except my toes..... Time to get on with the serious stuff.....blogging (regularly!!! erhmmmm) Crafting in earnest and teaching!! Yes I am starting to take more classes this year (if anyone else is interested in coming to a class or is part of a craft group that may be interested pls contact me via email raedalal@yahoo.co.uk)

Right self advertising over lol n now to the more interestin stuff Last week saw the latest Splodgeaway (www.splodgeaway.com) masks launched on create and craft and this was one of my samples from the show.

The background was created using pan pastels on linen cardstock and the Flourishthelot mask to emboss. (available here - Flourishthelot) I then used the mask as a stencil on to different colours of glitter cardstock and hand cut them (this is not as difficult or time consuming as it sounds !!) which were arranged as freestyle layers

And now for the butterfly !!!!! Except when is a butterfly not a butterfly.......when it is actually Clarity's large wallflower (available here - Wall-Flower-Corner-As-Seen-On-TV)
As soon as I saw this fabulously versatile corner I could see it would make an stunning butterfly so this one was made using heat reistant acetate (oooooooooo my nemesis product lol!!) stamped twice in versamark and heat embossed and cut, the point was trimmed and the 2 fixed together. the body was handcut n the antennae are made from the die cut flourishes!

Right thats it for today folks I hope you enjoy this project I off to get the craft room ready for my next project!!

Crafty cheers for now

Love and hugs Rae D

  7. Hello Rae,love the colour blending that you can get with Pan Pastels. I´ve gotta play with them at some point! Great subtle background on this card. Like how you offset it. Also want to thank you for continuing to support my designs :) Wishing you all the best for your new classes in 2013!
