Playtime from Leigh, Sincerely Yours

Good afternoon Bloggers!!

Hope you are all enjoying a pleasant Sunday afternoon :-)
Yesterday was Day 1 of my local Craft show, Sincerely Yours @ Leigh so I popped along to see what was what n catch up with folks

Was lovely to catch up with Tracy, Martine and Neet @ Oysterstamp n I picked up a few bits including some Brushos to add with my Luminarte pigments so this morning I had a play...

Adding in some of my Visible Image stamps to make this little card :-)

I also had a lovely meet up with Della n Dai from the Craft Bug, Oswestry - hope to bring you some exciting news on that front soon :-) and then I got round to a good old natter with Lucy from Sweet Poppy Stencils :-) Needless to say I didnt leave there empty handed I can't resist the amazing stencils!!!

This tree caught my eye with a potential for some lovely Chistmas cards but this morning I have gone with an Autumnal colour way using Brushos and Luminarte pigments (I DOOOoooo wish the Mica would show up on photos!!) and I added stamps from Designs by Ryn (now avail in the UK through Oysterstamp) and Donna Downney.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :-)

ART from Oak House Studio

Hi there folks. Hope you are well?

I am here to share my final piece with Oak House Studios as we prepare to welcome in the new team :-)

This challenge was all about words so I came up with this mixed media piece.

I coated the letters in Gesso and then used a mix of the fabulous spray inks - Peacock Green, French Wine, French Lavender and French Mint over the letters to create a base....

Once they were dry I did a base layer of stamping, directly onto the letters using the navy, orchid, sea blue and cobalt blue pigment inks and heat setting.

I then took a sheet of tissue paper and stamped more images in a mix of colours. Some I painted on the reverse with white and coloured acrylic paints before I cut them all out and layered them up across the letters. Wording was also stamped on tissue and torn into strips before being randomly added using matt medium. Stamps used include, clematis tower, both sizes of double daisies, English Garden words, Mountain Ash leaf, music background, Walesby flourish, serenity prayer and squares border.

To finish the project I added a selection of coordinating paper flowers and some dazzles....

I hope you find some inspiration in this piece. I'd like to say a big thanks to Lynnda and the rest of my DTeamies for a lovely semester - I cannot wait to see what the new guys come up with

Crafty cheers for now

Afterlife.......Writing time......

Good evening all :-)

As I mentioned a wee while ago - I want this blog to be about my complete creative side not just Art and Crafting.......so today I have finished a new piece of writing......

Hope you like.....

AFTERLIFE

Sailing free today, through the sunrise onto the horizon
this Old memory came back to me, you came back to me.
A halfway feeling, a smile while I was dreaming
making my way across the line, into the next life...

Tell me a tale,
sell me that dream,
before I fall asleep.
An everyday story
beating gravity.
Tonight's the night
for the Afterlife

Baby, I have seen you in the shadows of the longest night
but, he reached out to me, a burning fire through the vapour trails
Fleeting, believing, no regrets, this time, alive
Made his way over divides, into the next life...

Tell me a tale,
sell me that dream,
before I fall asleep.
An everyday story
beating gravity.
Tonight's the night
for the Afterlife

Have you ever had a wave break in the palm of your hand,
Has a shell ever sung you it's anthems of distant sands.
Not everything that wanders is lost,
taste the freedom of red star skies
.....and hold on.....
We are all just soldiers of the sun
.....so shine on.....
Not all that's lost is gone

Tell me a tale,
sell me that dream,
before I fall asleep.
An everyday story
beating gravity.
Tonight's the night
for the Afterlife....

Spectrum Noir Christmas colouring......

Well Good Afternoon Bloggers!!!!

Firstly I am SOOOOoooooo sorry I have been gone so long - I have been struggling with a slipped disc in my neck and crafting and computer work have been on hold while I have been flat on my back  on Doc's orders :-(

Anyway the last week or two have seen an improvement so I have been prepping for a Crafters Companion Day in Chirk this weekend.

This is what I have created.......

This Mistletoe is from the Vintage Christmas DVD rom and has been coloured using the Spectrum Noir pencils......

This second image is also from the DVD and has been coloured in with the Spectrim Noir Pens and Pencils before being blended over with Distress Inks to create the vintage look - the background is a vintage folder being used as a stamp and then softened over by blending more distress ink.

I hope you like today's offering :-)
It has been lovely to get back crafting and on here with you guys

Take care have a lovely evening and hopefully I will see you all soon
