Good morning all - happy Sunday!!

Today I thought I would drop by with the second of the birthday cards for my two besties! This one uses the Darkroom Door Record and sentiment stamp - which I absolutely love!! Repeat stamped in Archival Viridian and Pale Ochre. A nice non too complicated card.........yet it still took 45 mins for me to pick the right ribbon!! tshhhhhhh

Hello Baby......

Happy Hump day my friends :-)

Here I am with what is rapidly becoming a regular Wednesday date!!

It's been a busy few days here at Fairefox towers mainly involving getting very dirty, cleaned out and then very painty!!

Nothing much in the way of crafty art - this was all about getting the garden sorted in this glorious weather. It's been absolutely fantastic hasn't it! Wall to wall sunshine n 18 on the thermo!!

Anyway we had a new baby boy on the street yesterday so I got busy making this....

Its a mix of First Edition papers and Darkroom Door stamps - nothing too taxin!
I have lots of work to finish on the house before I can get back to craft in earnest!!

Thanks for stopping by....

Crafty cheers for now

The "MAIL" Man

Evening all!!

How are you? It's def taken a winter chill here - lovely to come back into a warm snuggly house having been out all day - Sincerely Yours at Leigh. Lovely to catch up with my crafty friends - spent too much lol!!

Anyway this week over at SPLODGEAWAY HQ  it is all about craft cycling - using up all those "bits" us crafters accumulate!

I had been busy making Christmas Cards last week and I decided i would only allow myself to use whatever bits were left over on the desk for my project.
I love the way that die cutting scraps have added extra interest to the layers.
I was also surprised how far the off cuts stretched!

I only had one ink pad on the desk and fortunately they all fitted together! Tag style cards are great to use up those smaller layers. I used Swirly lattice, Dotty the lot, Diamond Metal, Hexey and card king to emboss and ink through for the background tags

I used Darkroom Door's Mail Art stamp set on the dancing man from the Altered art kit. I used this mask as a stencil to cut out the topper.

I hope the DT's project this week have given you ideas for using up all those pesky scrap odds and ends :-)

Have a great weekend all

Have a lovely weekend!

Darkroom Door Quickie

Evening Folks!!!

How are we all? I've been up to my neck in a big painty mess all day!!

It's been rather a while as I am busy with a lot of long winded projects at the moment - They are all starting to come to fruition an I will be show casing them over the next few weeks :-)

Just a quick post tonight to share a card I've made using Darkroom door's Wilderness stamp set

Unfortunately it was impossible to show the glam of the Radiance Rain watercolour in the photo - but please believe me when I say the water truly shimmers :-)

The sentiment on this is "the journey awakens the soul"

Apt I think for what lies ahead......more to be revealed soon!

Have a great evening

Crafty cheers for now

It's in the sentiment.....

Good afternoon Bloggers :-)

Hope you are all  having a lovely Saturday?

I have been busy with magazine work this last week but thought I better pop by and check in!!

It's a lovely afternoon here in Cheshire ..... the calm before the first of the Autumn storms it seems. I have just had half an hour battening down all my Gladioli in the garden in the hope they will survive the next 48 hrs as they are at their most beautiful just now - fingers crossed hey??

As you know I love my words/poetry/song writing as much as my crafting, so with these couple of cards I decided to combine the two :-)

I have had another play with the pan pastels with this first one, just using them to create a soft sky for the gorgeous bird from Sheena's A little bit Magical stamp range.

The sentiment from PaperArtsy for me fits perfectly with the fabulous wingspan of the Eagle.

For the second card I chose some lyrics from my favorite singer, the wonderful Thea Gilmore. This background is created using a combination of Luminarte Radiance Rain pourables and concentrates on water colour card. I adore the shimmer of these paints

The swirl on this card Is from the new Eclectic range from Darkroom Door - slowly but surely I am getting round to playing with all my new stash :-)

Well I hope you like today's cards. Thank you for stopping by

Have a great weekend and stay safe and dry

Crafty cheers for now

Darkroom Door CAS..........

Happy Wednesday Everyone !!

Thought I would drop by with the first of several posts using my new Darkroom Door goodies.

I had a couple of hours spare over the weekend so I wanted some quick and easy CAS cards to bolster my own heavily depleted stash of cards !!! I was almost at the point of committing the cardinal sin of having to go out and BUY cards !!!! Criminal lol.....

For this set of cards I dug out my much depleted stock of Pan Pastels. I have to be honest I am not the world's biggest fan of this medium (Hence why I sold most of mine off!!) But for these flashes of colour they are perfect.

For these projects I used the following stamp sets Wilderness Vol 2; Montmarte and the Orchids. I source mine from the lovely Kim Humphreys (email her at info@thecraftytalbot.co.uk and she will happily help you)
I just used waste from die cutting and general crafting to mask off the shapes for the latter two cards

I am looking forward to seeing what people create with the new metallic Pan pastels - maybe they will be the thing to really win me over - ya can't beat a touch of sparkle!! lol

Well I hope these brighten your day and even inspire you a little

I am off to play with some more Christmas ideas - I may even allow myself to post one or two now it's September.....!!! Ha ha

Enjoy the rest of your day :-)

I will be back tomorrow with a tutorial for a super easy booklet card - until then take care

Darkroom Door......Hello Baby!!

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

Hope you are all having a good weekend?? What are you up to??

I am busy prepping for 3 lots of classes this week but thought I'd pop by with this quick post. On Thursday family friends welcomed a new arrival - Poppy Isabella and I had a couple of commissions for them, plus my own.

I always seemed to struggle for inspiration and ideas with Baby cards but  a few weeks ago I spotted this Hello Baby set of stamps from Darkroom Door. Those of you who know me well know I have a minor (major!!) obsession with these stamps!!! I source mine from the lovely Kim Humphreys (email her at info@thecraftytalbot.co.uk and she will happily help you)

I fell in love with them straight away and I haven't looked back!!!  A teddy, booties and the pram are the main big stamps plus a whole lot of sentiments and the vintage advert square.

This teddy is TO DIE FOR !!!!
Adorable in any colour and so realistic - I just want to squeezy bob his nose!! Lol.  Plus he's not just for Baby cards......early birthdays of even a Teddy Collector would love him on a card!

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the New Darkroom door stamps in the UK early Sept. That will be me skint before I even get to Ally Pally!!! lol.

Anyway I best dash - prep to do n brekkie to get! Have a good weekend n I will see you later this week

Crafty cheers for now!!
