Tim Holtz Tag time....

Good morning everyone :-)

Hope it is as nice a day with you as it is here in Cheshire!

Just stopping by with a quick post this morning as I have a Doc's appt and then magazine work to be on with.

Today I am sharing this Tim Holtz tag I made for a lovely swap group I belong too...

Our theme was Male so I took my Dad as inspiration, incorporating some of what he meant to me.

This tag used the works, embossing folders, dies, stamps (my signed set that I won from AFTH ;-) ), acrylic paint, ink gilding wax, enamalling and the tissue technique plus the embellies

Don't forget my little tag challenge - you can enter HERE

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.....

Have a great Thursday :-)

Christmas is coming.....

Hi there folks - Happy Hump Day!!

Hope you are all well?

Sorry for the extended absence, had a few things on this last week. Now they are out of the way It's time to dust off the tinsel and role out the baubles for the festivities. I love this time of year - Only wish we had the big snow like Canada!

Over the next few days/weeks I will be sharing lots of short posts for christmas ideas for cards, gifts and decorations. I hope you find some fextive inspiration!! :-)

So here it goes.....

I thought I'd start with my fave colours and my own personal trend for CAS
Christmas this year

This uses die cutting waste as a centre piece and a background made from Tim Holtz stamps

This one uses a panel that was a reject from the Winter Wonderland Printer tray from a few weeks ago.....Nothing ever needs to go to waste!!

Hope there's some inspiration there - thanks for stopping by :-)

Tim Holtz Distress inks.......

Hi de Hi campers!!

How are we all this evening?

Well as i promised I have completed some cards from the fabulous workshop with Eileen Godwin on Tuesday this week!!

We were using Distress inks and the Hero arts stamp (S5471 large flower pattern)
This was my result...

....the image was coloured in using Evergreen bough, Broken China, Weathered Wood and Black Soot.

Yesterday inspired by the class I had a quick play with another similar stamp. A Heartfelt Creations Flower stamp. I had to change up the colour technique slightly with this as the image is slightly more open.

This one I repeat stamped into a quad pattern before embossing.

The final card on the left is just a single stamped image like the original from class

I hope you like these offerings and if you get chance to pop along to this lovely ladies class do so!!!

Have a good evening

Be back soon :-)

Splodge on the telly again.....

Well good morning everyone!!

Firstly apologies for the lack of posts recently. Most of you will know I was in hospital this week and my work has been focused on today's shows so was all under wraps!!

As you have just seen we had some great goodies to work with I just ran out of time!!!

Its Create and Craft's 10th birthday so first up Happy Birthday......

....then I played with distress inks and Heartfelt Creations stamps
....Then it was time to get the medium out with Chloe's wedding stamps...
...then back to distress inks and gilding wax ....I promise !! this pic doesn't do that bit justice....
....Then some SUPERB new stamps from Art Journey (click for link) for this one....
.....inspiration from a great film with Designs by Ryn water droplets (more awesome new raindrops designs available here)
....and then to finish up i used the new Clarity Lesson Kit... combined with the garden mask

Yet again the whole DT has done a fantastic job, I am sure you will agree and we hope you all enjoyed today's show !!

I am off to play with the masks I didn't get round to using for today's shows. Have a happy Friday and a great weekend!!

Its a NEW dawn its a NEW day......

Its a new dawn (ish!) its a new day (def!) its a new life (nah.....) and I'm feeling good...........(well I only creaked 11 times gettin up today lol!!)

Today's post comes to you courtesy of Hels Sheridan's Sunday Scrappers and one of my all time favourite songs......Its all about things New.....

Free to use any stash as long as it is new or unused (oh dear lord I'd of been crafting til the Apocalypse if I had to use the "unused" items in the craft room!!!! tut tut I know lol)  I decided on this tag....NEW technique - Pebbles to create an initial background (picture tutorial will follow hopefully next week!), NEW masks (Leaf It and Wrought Iron Gates from Splodgeaway) NEW die (Picture Wheel Bigz Die) AND finally a NEW set of stamps Timeless Sentiments from Heartfelt creations.

I think that covers the criteria then for this challenge lol!! As usual it is just lots and lots of masking and spritzing and layers and texture etc. I REALLY luuuuuuuurved this tag and I soooooooooo didnt want to send it as part of my DT for last weekends TV show lol!! Ah well I will just have to make myself a duplicate ha ha .......

Anyway I have had a morning of insecurity and inspirationless hours staring at my ART JOURNAL but the lyrics to this song have given me what I need ..... (I am relatively new to journalling but have written poetry and lyrics for years so I am trying to combine the two!!)....so to to borrow more lines

....this old world is a new world and a bold world for me, for me.....

and I am off to draw!!

Ornamental noel

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday. I thought I would share a quick card I played with yesterday.

The card uses the Splodgeaway Holly mask to create the background and a customised blend of adirondak Pesto and distress pine needles. On the toppper I used tea dye and vintage photo then the whole lot was spritzed with perfect pearls Blue smoke.

The stamped image is the Ornamental Fairy from the wonderful Ryn Tanaka at designs by Ryn (www.designsbyryn.com) She has the most wonderful range of stamps next on my purchase list are the really different origami animals!

This image was simply coloured in Copics and finished off with Glamour Dust and ice diamond on the cuffs.
To complete the card I used Tim Holtz Vintage Noel die and my trademark ribbon.
I have lots more ideas for this stamp so I am off to play some more......

I hope you like todays offering have a happy Friday and I will see you all over the weekend.....hopefully with a little offering using Sam Poole's steampunk Christmas!!

Crafty cheers for now!!!
