Hello Baby......

Happy Hump day my friends :-)

Here I am with what is rapidly becoming a regular Wednesday date!!

It's been a busy few days here at Fairefox towers mainly involving getting very dirty, cleaned out and then very painty!!

Nothing much in the way of crafty art - this was all about getting the garden sorted in this glorious weather. It's been absolutely fantastic hasn't it! Wall to wall sunshine n 18 on the thermo!!

Anyway we had a new baby boy on the street yesterday so I got busy making this....

Its a mix of First Edition papers and Darkroom Door stamps - nothing too taxin!
I have lots of work to finish on the house before I can get back to craft in earnest!!

Thanks for stopping by....

Crafty cheers for now

Love

Rae

Sunday Love song......

Good Morning all and Happy Sunday !!

Today I will mostly be pottering doing much about nothing, but before I get snowed under with that hectic schedule I thought I would check in with you folks!!

The wedding season is on the horizon so I thought I would share a couple of makes with you

This first one is traditional and classic - one of the very first DT pieces I did for Splodgeaway last year. It uses an Indigo Blu stamp and I just adore this plaited ribbon technique.

This one is a recent comission for a pop up wedding card.....all hand cut n measured I'll have you know lol so if anyone wants the template n measurements drop me a line!!!

And finally something a little different - a pretty "grunge/funky" wedding card. I do love circular cards right now !!

I hope you like todays offerings - enjoy a lazy Sunday and I will see you again in the week!!

Crafty cheers and tatty byes for now

Love

A little fairydust.......

Well here we are again folks !
Its the very early hours of another Monday!

I am bog eyed and bleary headed, peppermint tea is mashing while Felix is still snoring on my now dead leg !!! Getting organized and up to date with this weeks blog schedule .......Today's offering comes from the Splodgeaway stable !!!

This reverse easel card used the Fairy Stenskape, Viva Decor 3D mediums and a lovely 6 x 6  paperpack from Crafty Individuals

I took a technique I have used to add dimension to pieces in my art journal and rolled several co-ordinating papers into different sized "cigars" and fixed them to the card base, which I had already inked using the stenskape and the old distress inks

The toadstools and fairies were then created using the Viva 3d and distress Stains. I am really in love with this medium it is so versatile and easy to use. The biggest draw for me is probably its speedy drying time given my totes lack of patience!! ha ha!

Felix and I have lots on this week.....( shhhh the V....E.....T trip is looming !!!) and I have prep deadlines, writing to finish and several comissions in the diary. Plus, I hope to see a man about a proverbial "dog",  before ending the week on the NHS merry-go-nowhere.

I am also expecting rather a lot of crafty goodliness (from both sides of the pond !) to be delivered via Mr Postie and Mr Courier today and I want to plaaaaaaaayyyyyy so I am of to the "artistic bombsite" to launch a hand grenade to tidy up all things inky in readiness.

Have a good week all !!

Crafty cheers for now :-)

Love and hugs for now

A wintery weekend.......and a little bit of Crafty Individuality

Morning all! Hows the big freeze?

They werent kidding when they said this week was going to be a cold one were they?
Personally I love the snow ...... the big powdery huge Canadian kind not the half a job stuff that grinds this country to a holt!!!

Having said that I am taking today to chill and relax, watching the snow fall across the fields and schedule a couple of posts as this weekend is going to be busy

I know this is a wee bit late nearly 3 weeks into January - but I thought I would share one of my christmas makes with you. Easily adaptable for any time of year !!!
This box card is super simple to make and can very easily be upsized/downsized accordingly and was passed on to me by the lovely Maria Simms (check out her great blog Inkymits !)

On this card I used some fabulous 12 x 12 papers - a real obsession of mine as the several overflowing boxes in the craft room bare testament too!! - to decorate the cover and spine of the box card then stamps from Crafty individuals and Clarity and the whole thing was given a suspended look by using acetate tabs

.....and heres the finished article! I believe it was well recieved .... least I hope it was!!!

Anyway off  I go class today and then a busy weekend of DT work for Splodge's next show on Thursday. Hope you can tune in!!

Crafty hugs for now .... stay safe and warm!!

PaperArtsy Playday.....

Afternoon Folks !

How are we all?

Well I should be making my way to a hospital appointment right now but little miss Hyacynth Hyundai is sat on the drive very poorly with herself hoping the very nice man from the RAC can make her better when he gets here ! So I thought I would kill this wait with a quick post.

Last week myself and the lovely Maria Simms got together for a play day with our stash from the NEC and this tag was one of the outcomes

The tag background was created using crackle glaze and the fabuloso-um-a-diddy fresco finish acrylics from PaperArtsy www.paperartsy.co.uk  which come in all lovely scrumptious colours and a range of finishes. Some random stamping with Clarity Holly finished the background and the hexagonal wood chips and then it all got a bit funky !! I decided to stamp using distress stains and one of the lovely new Lynn Perella Christmas stamp sets which was also from PaperArtsy.

When I did stamp the lady the distress stain seemed to resist the acrylic background and gave me a lovely soft watercolouresque type image! Not planned but a happy accident!! (did think of calling this post H is for How D'I Do That??? lol)  Loved it so I clear embossed it in UTEE and added some defining highlights in white acrylic!! The tag was finished with Treasure Gold metallic wax.

The washi tape Christmas tree (yes it is a tree I promise!!) was a technique I picked up from this months Scrap365 magazine. Although I am no scrapbooker I do love this magazine for all its tips, tricks and techniques

I hope you like my littl' offering today I would love to hear back from you! I have some exciting things to look forward too this week which I will reveal soon I hope! I am off now as Mr RAC man is here!

I is for Ivory and I do

Good afternoon everyone! Hows things? All quiet here even Felix is asleep......least she's not in a carrier bag on the bed this time!! As I havent been around for a few days I thought I would share a quick comission from earlier this week.....It seems wedding cards are still the order of the day..... I have 3 more coming up on the books the next couple of weeks.

This as you can see is a simple classic design in white, ivory and gold to build a layered "cake" The background uses Kanban patterened acetate but if you want to make it more individual u could create our own using heat resistant acetate and white embossing powders or cotton white Stayz on.

To finish I used charms from tim holtz and creative expressions to add a vintage feel and topped the card off with the personal details in die cuts and the much maligned peel offs!!!

Anyway I hope you like. Have a good weekend and take care.

VINTAGE "RAIN DEER"

Hi everyone Happy Thursday!! I hope I find you all well! What a miserable horrid day, myself and Felix are holed up in our craft room, I am still working on decorating that altered mirror with Sam Poole's steam punk christmas set and Felix is alternating between lying over everything I am using or snoring at my feet!!

Anyway I found time to make this little vintage card using Indigo Blu Looks like Rain Deer and Here comes Santa stamps ...... the flying santa is from Inkylicious!

Also used on this project were kaisercraft Just Believe 12 x 12 and the free papers from the latest molly bloom magazine kit.I took the 6 x 6 central panel from the just believe and created the scene using tea dye and vintage photo

The large stag is stamped on cream card and decoupaged onto the background and then the snowflake toppers were stamped on cream paper and fixed over the co-ordinating Molly Bloom papers.

The rosette is also made from the Molly Bloom papers and the centre is inked in Adirondak Pesto. While the "ribbon tails" are just hand cut pieces of left over scrap paper......see I am even getting economical lol!!
Finally the wording was stamped onto the die cut in Pesto. My trademark 'ribbon' has given way to this bow created from the off cut paper strip from the 12 x 12 and embellished it with a nod to Bling with the brad!!

Hope you have enjoyed todays offering I'd love to hear your feedback and would be delighted if you can spread the word about my Baby Blog!! Stay warm and safe over the weekend and I will see you again next week!!!

Crafty cheers for now!!
