Beginning with Birthdays......

Good evening everyone :-)

Welcome to 2014!! I hope the festive season was kind to you and the New Year has begun well?

January for me is a busy month of birthdays.......(inc my own big four oh).......so I thought I would start the year off with a couple of Birthday Card makes

Yesterday I had a play day with Mum and I got very messy with lots of distress paints and stencils/masks making lots of backgrounds. One of which I used for this card, the Sweet Poppy Stencil is beautiful and to accent the eye of the feather I used Glossy Accents sprinkled with distress glitter

This second make is a one layer card using masking and masks and one of my "go to" male stamps from Art Journey. Masking is great for adding depth to cards that you need to get through our marvellous postal system!!!

I have vowed (again!!) as a New Year's Resolution to blog more......I promise to try!!

Thank you for popping by :-)

Crafty Cheers for now

  7. Two fabulous cards. I thought the feather was a stamp! Great detail. And the background for the male card is brilliant, not to mention the stamp!
Have fab weekend and embrace being 40 ... It's the new 30! X

  8. another set of wonderful cards. is it the dreamweaver feather stencil that youused. If so would like more information on how you obtained this result. I usually go for sponging this stencil with various distress ink pads and adding a little glitter but I like your effect more.

  9. Kate it is and yes thats all i did :-) coz its fine u need to work the sponges etc in well mixing the colours for depth I used salty ocean/faded jeans. Another way is to ink n then apply translucent paste with the stencil in place before sprinkling with glitter xxx
