Splodgeaway Owls are us .....

Good evening everyone!!

I hope you all managed to catch the Splodge shows with Tom and Hazel today on Create an Craft? If not enjoy catching up with them this evening. :-)

They were great shows. What do you all think of the great new Splodge product?? (I wont spoil it for anyone who has missed them!) I will be blogging that later in the week :-)

Tonight I thought I would share a couple of the Owl samples from the show. Thanks to Dawn Bibby for taking the time to show all the Design Team's work. Sadly the 1st show didn't showcase too much - it can be a little bit disheartening.

Owls are still a huge trend and the Owl mask set is spot on!

This is a CAS use of the Owl Creator and he is a cutie!!! Although the sentiment seemed to cause a bit of an issue......lol How's Twoo?? AS in twit twoo?? Dawn Bibby could only say two n didnt seem to get it. Was I a bit too clever???

For the second one I used the Gelli Plate and took a full print of the owl mask on kraft card and then a print of the mask on the white before decoupaging the little owly on.

Hope you like these fella's :-)

All of the products from the show are available HERE

Have a lovely evening

See you back soon

Zentangle

Good Evening Blog world!!

Long time no see!!!

Hope you have all enjoyed a lovely Bank Holiday weekend here in England!

Firstly apologies again for having deserted you all the last couple of weeks :-( Everything I have been up too has been Top Secret lol :-) but all will be revealed in good time!

I thought I would pop on with a project I have been playing with today.

Zentangle is uber popular right now and when I get 5 mins "off" so to speak I do like to doodle.
So I have spoiled myself this weekend and done 3 tangles in my Journal and started a Large Canvas Tangle.
It's controversial to add colour in some Tangle "circles" but my work, my rules lol - and I quite like the added interest of just a hint of vibrancy :-)

I hope everyone is tuning in tomorrow for the 2 Splodge Away shows on Create and Craft? There are some FABBY-LI-CIOUS goodies! Don't miss out!!
Tom and Hazel will be on our screens at 11am and 3pm. See you there :-)

Have a lovely evening I am on for pizza and a football/tennis/NCIS marathon!!

See you tomorrow

Darkroom Door......Hello Baby!!

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

Hope you are all having a good weekend?? What are you up to??

I am busy prepping for 3 lots of classes this week but thought I'd pop by with this quick post. On Thursday family friends welcomed a new arrival - Poppy Isabella and I had a couple of commissions for them, plus my own.

I always seemed to struggle for inspiration and ideas with Baby cards but  a few weeks ago I spotted this Hello Baby set of stamps from Darkroom Door. Those of you who know me well know I have a minor (major!!) obsession with these stamps!!! I source mine from the lovely Kim Humphreys (email her at info@thecraftytalbot.co.uk and she will happily help you)

I fell in love with them straight away and I haven't looked back!!!  A teddy, booties and the pram are the main big stamps plus a whole lot of sentiments and the vintage advert square.

This teddy is TO DIE FOR !!!!
Adorable in any colour and so realistic - I just want to squeezy bob his nose!! Lol.  Plus he's not just for Baby cards......early birthdays of even a Teddy Collector would love him on a card!

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the New Darkroom door stamps in the UK early Sept. That will be me skint before I even get to Ally Pally!!! lol.

Anyway I best dash - prep to do n brekkie to get! Have a good weekend n I will see you later this week

Crafty cheers for now!!

Wedding Season (Part 2) with Sam Poole's Creative Studios

Well the weekend is almost here!

Its been a busy week and today I am teaching but I thought I would drop by first with part 2 of the wedding season.

This was a commission for one of my closest friend's. He will be Best man to his brother this weekend and this was made to coordinate with the whole wedding. Once again I have used Sam's Shabby chic Heart stamp set (avail HERE)

This time I stamped the heart into a flower shape cutting far enough down to be able to shape them before fitting into the box frame of the card.

I used a combination of paper flowers and then pearl and bead floristry accessories to decorate the centre before topping with cut and stamped Clarity horseshoes (avail HERE).

I carried the personal decoration through to finish off  the detail on the front.
The typewriter letter dies are a MUST have for me (avail HERE) along with a couple of good alphabet stamp sets.......the world is your Oyster lol!!

Well I am off to teach now, I may be AWOL for a few days from here as I have a lot of DT work and deadlines coming up.

So take care have a great weekend, Happy crafting!!

Anything Goes.....with Splodgeaway!!

Woohoo Mornin' - I'm back again!!!

Gettin a tad regular with this bloggin' malarky eh???

Dont Panic I am sure it will all revert to normal soon lolol :-)

Today I am showcasing these little projects over on the Splodge blog HERE

These are 3 little gift bags are made from left over envelopes.
They can be made to any size of envelope. Great, quick and easy as well as uniquely personal if needed.

The masks I used were an original Splodge mask of winged horses and mermaids ( had it for ages and only just getting to use it :-) ) that I just love, smashed glass, swirly lattice and cupcake creator.

I tied the colour scheme in with the lovely delicate washi tape being envelopes they don't like a lot of "wet" product so I stuck to inks and tapes.

Here is the "HOW TO"

1. Take any sized envelope and seal it.

2. Trim off  1 end and decorate to your taste

3. Take your Hougie and score about an inch in on all for sides (this measurement can be varied depending on the size of the required giftbag) and then fold both ways making clean sharp lines

4. Insert your hand into the bag and spread the sides and base until a corner is formed at the bottom fold in and glue

5. Create fastening with either ties or a flap :-)

Easy Peasy as I said!! I hope you like this fun project .

Have a good "HUMP" day ;-) lol !!!

I am off to have coffee with a friend and then prep the cards for Friday's Splodge and  Dylusion's class

See you back here very soon

Wedding season (Pt 1) from Creative Studios by Sam Poole

Good Morning All :-)

Hope your week is a case of so far so good and not is it the weekend yet??

I am busy this week with weddings and babies and classes and magazine and  DT work not to mention, needing to find time to do the gzillion ideas I have for my ATC swap group AND make up all my toppers up from my Gelli plate sesh the other day.....EEEEEKKKK!!! That looks a lot worse written down!!

Best make this quick......

I have used the fabulous Shabby Chic Heart stamp set from Creative Studios by Sam Poole (available HERE

This was a commission stamped and clear embossed in Victorian Velvet and using my new circle cutter which is a GODSEND! It cuts EVERY size of circle up to 6 in and is much quicker than my dies (though the "batwings" don't get their Grand Calibre workout!!)

The flower embellies are my first outing with Brittania rose dies (available from Pink Frog HERE)

Looking forward to lots of new exciting goodies in Sam's C n C show at 11am today!

Sorry it's only a fleeting visit that "to do" list has got me in all of a tizz!!

Best go make some headway - see you back here with Splodge tomorrow :-)

Crafty cheers for Now

Take care n stay safe!!

Splodgeaway Through the mask....

Hope you are all enjoying a nice chillaxing Sunday?

Today over on the Splodgeaway blog I am hosting this weeks theme

Through the Mask

My favourite technique is layering through the masks. Inks, sprays, mediums, paint, beeswax, glitter, flakes, gilding wax.......anything i can find! In this one i created an initial background using Distress stains on Satin card stock. Swooshed over (oh I do love the sound of that word lol!!) and then spritzed and allowed to run. Once dry I added a few "splats" Then I applied distress ink through the LEAF IT mask before going back over with white acrylic paint. I then took the BIG BUTTERFLY stencil and applied a mix of white, pink, purple and metallic blue through before topping with freeform Frantage to add bling/dimension.

The swirl and sentiment are by PaperArtsy, and are avilable here. Stamped in StazOn and highlighted in white!

I'd love to know what are your favourite techniques with the Splodge masks??

Right I have something to go do.....not sure what as I cheated and have scheduled this post! So hopefully something has come up lol!!

Have a good Sunday

Clarity Challenge ....... Animals

Good Morning all!

Thank you for all your lovely entries in last months To be beside the seaside Challenge!!
What a tremendously high standard again!!
Congratulations not only to our winner but to all of you for such superb projects

This month it is all about Animals......

I was asked to do this as a commission for someone who is a Gillie up in the highlands and thought this fitted the bill perfectly. I love doing landscapes and scene building.

I used the Forest RidgeLge Pheasanttree trunkGrasses 1grasses 2Spaniel and Letterbox kit on this Project

The whole scene was created using Adirondack Meadow and Distress ink Gathered Twigs and Weathered wood. The dogs were merely stamped in 1st and 2nd generation ink to achieve the colour variation in the Spaniels. The Pheasant was coloured by using Distress markers in Faded Jeans and aged Mahogany.

There are a tonne of fantastic ideas by the Design Team over on the Clarity Challenge Blog here
So please take a look and Happy crafting!!

Good Luck to you all this month

Crafty Cheers for now!!
