Serenity

Well the day of rest is on us.......for some maybe!!

I am still doing battle with the craft room redesign n my head is all over the place lol!!

So I decided that some calmness was required.....

This card uses a colour scheme of Victorian Velvet, Pumice stone and Peacock feathers and the gorgous Essence of Nature stamps from Chocolate Baroque.

I love the calm serenity of these colours and the sentiment....

Forget not that
the earth
delights to feel
your bare feet
and the winds
long to play
with your hair....

So on that note of peace I will leave you to enjoy a restful day :-)

Thank you for taking the time to stop by

Vintage Creative Stamping.......

Good Morning everyone! Welcome to the weekend :-)

Today's make come's from the latest issue of Creative Stamping (Issue 15) There is a fabulous set of free vintage/stempunk stamps this time around n I was asked to complete a project - 1 style 3 ways......

This was the vintage offering. It started off life as a piece of mop up card - I always have lots of bits of mop up card on my desk for diff colourways - you get fab n unique backgrounds for your projects. Then the topper was added and the stamped image embossed and stained. Before being embellished.

I was hugely honoured when my copy arrived to see....

......that it had only gone n made the cover!!

There are some fabulous products in this issue - I hope you can grab yourself a copy from your local craft shop!

Right - off to rearrange the craft office!! I may be gone a while!!

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping by!!

Chocolate Baroque Butterflies.......

Hello Bloggers! Happy Hump Day!!

Picking it up now 2 posts in 2 days eh?? lolol!!

I had an hour's play time yesterday so I got bright and breezy with the baby wipe technique again - this time with distress inks.....

The cross mask is another from Green Pepper Press and the gorgeous butterfly tree stamp is Essence of Nature from Chocolate Baroque....

A while ago I had a Gelli session and created this butterfly from a Splodgeaway mask, the tag is made with the rusted enamel technique so I combined the two and finished off the the Chocolae Baroque stamps again :-)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like todays makes

A quick and easy technique with Gelatos.....

Good moring all? How is your week so far?

I havent had a whole lot of craft time recently but I did manage to make this quick tag the other night using gelatos. there's a big trend for these little sticks of creamy water colourness at the moment. Easy to blend with/without water and very versatile.

For this tag I used the 50's Diner Glato set and the technique for this tag blends them directly onto cardstock and then you simply place a mask over and then wipe across with a babywipe to remove colour :-)

Easy peasy and it also works with distress inks too! On this cardstock I didnt use a layer of gesso beneath the gelatos but certain stock will achieve better results if gessoed 1st.

I layered a second stencil over the top using Distress inks and then stamped in archival using Lost Coast Design and StampersAnon.

The masks I used came from Green Pepper Press.

I hope this technique is useful - I look fwd to seeing your makes with this!

Crafty cheers for now - going to see if I can catch an hours sleep!

Thanks for stopping by.....

Pan Pastel Masterclass

Good afternoon Bloggers!!

Today it's all about Pan Pastels :-) and a little spring in the air......

......I do like these PaperArtsy stamps so useful for any occassion! I embossed the cardstock then highlighted the words gently in pan pastel. The background was then run back through the cuttlebug to flatten it out and the background colours added before stamping, erasing and fixing.

Pam Pastels are great for achieving the Ombre look so on trend just now.....again the eraser technique was used on this one too to add highlights

Thanks for stopping by - I am off to redesign my "office" for the umpteenth time!!

Have  good Monday eve

Beginning with Birthdays......

Good evening everyone :-)

Welcome to 2014!! I hope the festive season was kind to you and the New Year has begun well?

January for me is a busy month of birthdays.......(inc my own big four oh).......so I thought I would start the year off with a couple of Birthday Card makes

Yesterday I had a play day with Mum and I got very messy with lots of distress paints and stencils/masks making lots of backgrounds. One of which I used for this card, the Sweet Poppy Stencil is beautiful and to accent the eye of the feather I used Glossy Accents sprinkled with distress glitter

This second make is a one layer card using masking and masks and one of my "go to" male stamps from Art Journey. Masking is great for adding depth to cards that you need to get through our marvellous postal system!!!

I have vowed (again!!) as a New Year's Resolution to blog more......I promise to try!!

Thank you for popping by :-)
