....and now for something COMPLETELY different......

Good Afternoon everyone!!

Its been another "4 seasons in 1 day" here so far! It's been a funny day, not quite settled at anything n nothing crafty seems to have worked.

So stepping out on a limb, I thought I would do something a wee bit different!!

As well as card making and crafting, some of you may know I also partake in a little song writing and poetry along the way.

This is one of my recently written pieces.....

SLEEP WITH THE SUN

Shadows of the wind, a flickering flame
Earth, wind and fire, dance across the skyline again.
A ghostly lit figure, moving all alone,
You came, you conquered and you stole

I am many flaws
but I am sewn together at the core
with good intentions
for richer or for poorer
all the sticks and stones
only make me own me a little more

Sleep with the sun, dance with the moon,
It’s only a view
Turn downside up and upside down,
Make it work for you
Don’t draw the lines in steel and stone,
Don’t fill in the blanks until you know

I am many flaws
but I am sewn together at the core
with good intentions
for richer or for poorer
all the sticks and stones
only make me own me a little more

I hope you like it and maybe find something in it. Maybe not. - I won't be offeneded!!
Poetry/songs are very personal things :-)

In the meantime do not fear!!!!

The crafting and card making will be back in the next post!!! I just wanted to share something different...

Crafty Cheers for now!!

Tim Holtz Distress inks.......

Hi de Hi campers!!

How are we all this evening?

Well as i promised I have completed some cards from the fabulous workshop with Eileen Godwin on Tuesday this week!!

We were using Distress inks and the Hero arts stamp (S5471 large flower pattern)
This was my result...

....the image was coloured in using Evergreen bough, Broken China, Weathered Wood and Black Soot.

Yesterday inspired by the class I had a quick play with another similar stamp. A Heartfelt Creations Flower stamp. I had to change up the colour technique slightly with this as the image is slightly more open.

This one I repeat stamped into a quad pattern before embossing.

The final card on the left is just a single stamped image like the original from class

I hope you like these offerings and if you get chance to pop along to this lovely ladies class do so!!!

Have a good evening

Be back soon :-)

John Glossop Workshop....

Well good morning all!!

Congratulations once again to Gillian (Lee) for winning last weeks Give away - I am hoping to have another give away soon so watch this space :-)

Apologies again for my absence from here the last couple of weeks! Terrible aren't i
I have been super busy work wise and quite simply ran out of hours in the day! It has been a fab time though.

So I am having a couple of hours this morning scheduling up several posts for the next week or so :-)

As those of you that follow me on FB  know i went on a workshop with John Glossop last week and this is what we created.....

The old Ikea mirrors got an outing with this and were turned into this lovely textured frame.
Lots of paper, lots of acrylic paint and then the meltpot came out and beeswax was used for the 3d texture and fixing the tissue papers. Finishing touches included Mica and Gilding wax.

The large butterfly is from Tim Holtz and was mounted on to the weaved card background that replaced the usual mirror and then the frame was finished off with stamping and these (dreaded lol!) flowers- those that know me do know I have a bad track record and short fuse making these flowers lol - they always seem to cause me trauma of one sort or another lolol!!

It was a great class and I thoroughly recommend catching one of John's classes/demo days!

I hope you have enjoyed today's offering - I would love to know what you think!

Have a good day everyone!

Splodgerama Part Deux!

Well the weekend is in view again - Thankfully!!

Don't know about you but here "up north" I am more than ready for the supposed better weather this weekend!!

As promised here are the remaining samples from Tuesday's Splodge shows on the telly.

Finishing off the "clean" cards from Tuesday this cocktail fairy makes a great focus for a set of Party invites - the "bling" in this comes from Viva Decor's subtly sparkly 3D Stemplefarbe medium. I love using this on all surfaces and it doesnt take forever to dry.....Super great for little impatient me!! You can also stamp with it.....just dont leave it on the stamps as it will damage them!

Well my little Owl friend is back!! V different this time Ferro was applied through the mask then painted with a selection of acrylics - the detail was then picked out with Treasure Gold from PaperArtsy
My fave paper flowers were coloured with Alcohol Inks to coordinate and the Tim Holtz Tissue paper panel was coloured using acrylic paint

A hanging canvas this time - texture added through acrylic and the detailing of the mask highlighted with white pen

The final 2 samples fall back on one of my "happy" colour combo of oranges and blues. I have lots and lots (and far too many lots!!) of 12 x 12's and paper packs lying around so I have decided I WILL start using them n not just looking stroking n putting back lol!! This silhouette figure is fab just on her own as well as with all the dresses!! Reminds me of an old TV show intro.....was it Tales of the Unexpected???

Anyway I hope you have enjoyed these samples - all the products are available from the Splodgeaway online shopping!!

Happy Splodging until next time!

Splodgerama Primero Vez ....

Hullllooooooooo!!

Well I said I'd be back soon - Twice in 2 days eh!

Did you all catch Splodge on Create and Craft? Fab show again with Tom and Hazel don't miss them again this evening! I have split my samples into 2 lots this time and this is the 1st lot for you.

Everyone is going Zentangle crazy at the moment, Its a great way to relax and close off from stress. Lots of the Splodge masks make great templates - why don't you give it a go - Grab a mask grab a pen and Doodle away!!! The "Fabulous" card used simple patterns to add definition to the dress forms, A great way to introduce yourself to the art form!

I ADORE this little Owl mask - such a cutie and super vesatile as you will see later in the week But I am keeping this Post all clean and simple. switch up the colours and you have a great focal point for a Kiddies card!! Had great fun yesterday making some cards like this yesterday

Super subtle embossing and taking colour inspiration from Nature with this new mask - using the diamond markings as a template and cut along the line to add an interesting edge to a card that's great for all the new Post Office regulations. Interest n no extra cost to send!!

Going bright and summery and keeping the theme of clean lines I made a background sheet with distress inks Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries and Seedless Preserves then got busy die cutting before adding the "blooming paper flower" embellishments (My current fave!!Lol)

Hope you have enjoyed this glimpse - all the goodies will be available from Splodgeaway soon!
Dont forget to check back later in the week for more samples!!

Enjoy the teatime show with Tom and Hazel!!

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.....

Good morning Everyone!! Yes I am still here!!

I promise I will be making up for last week's absence as there are now 4 planned Blogages over the next few days - you will be sick of me lol :-)

Well it's the 1st of the month again so that means it is time for another fab challenge from the Clarity Challenge Blog ! (here

Its summertime ( ish!!) so where better to be than the Seaside ! (well tbh I could be by the sea summer, winter, spring, fall, rain, snow or shine!! )

This is my take.....

I love postcards as memories of holidays and I have them stored and scrapped all around the house. I send them to myself as well as friends and this was behind my thinking for this piece. This started of as an unloved wooden heart board which I re vamped with lots of acrylic paint

I then set about making a collection of postcards using lots and lots of clarity beach stamps ( all available here ) They included the postcard kit, Scrabble letter kit, Shell corner, Nautilus Shell, Single shell, deckchair, beach hut, Shell cluster, Seagull, Lighthouse and the cliffs.

I wanted a modern fresh look rather than the traditional for the postcards so focused on only 3 colours, brown, pink and turquoise. All the images were coloured using Copic Markers. I added interest with different layers and textures on each postcard. The lighthouse is covered with Tim holtz Frosted Film - doesn't show up brilliantly sorry!

To keep interest I used lots of different shapes for the cards, ATC's. journalling and then customised shapes like the bucket and the diamond

This sentiment I found many moons ago, somewhere and it sums up my love affair with the sea.....just need someone to make it into a stamp........Anyone any ideas???? ;-)

I infilled the spaces with real shells - NOT my precious collection from around the globe!! - but some I picked up from a floristry stockist. Its a great way to add embellies at a reasonable cost.

So Summertime IS here and it is SO nice to be beside the Seaside.....Lets see what you can conjour up!!

Congratulations on all your fabulous entries from last months Mr & Mrs challenge and Good Luck again this month!!!

Crafty Cheers for now
