Fun with foiling.....

Happy Sunday  Everyone!

Once again apologies for my absence from blogland!! I will be back up to full speed in the very near future i promise.

This last week was rather exciting and frightening!!! I had my first ever magazine publication in Creative Stamping on Friday - a piece all about foiling techniques.

I thought I would post just a peek of a couple of those cards today.

The rest of the article is available in creative Stamping issue 10, on sale now - it has a fabulous set of stamps and some great ideas. I have already received some lovely comments on the whole article and I truly am  flattered as you are all so super talented as well. Thank you.

I am off back to work now

Have a great day!

Boys and there toys......

Happy Saturday everyone!!

I am going to try and make up for my absence last week with a couple of extra posts this weekend!!

First off I thought I'd share a couple of fella's Birthday cards and they are both based on good old trains and travel...

This is a collage card  made up using several Creative Expressions sets of stamps and the Splodge Heart from the heart corners was used to create the gentle distress ink blending for the background. I have recreated this card in various guises n colourways since - I just love collage.

Next there's this 70th birthday card .....

...this time with a truly vintage theme. The age on the rosette was created using peel offs....aged embossing powder was melted in several layers over them and then the peel offs were lifted away before it had completely cooled. Was rather pleased with the texture it achieved. I know they are a really "uncool" but think "outside the box"  used in different ways they really can add to a project.

Have a great weekend whatever you have planned.

Call back and say Hi soon

Splodge on the telly again.....

Well good morning everyone!!

Firstly apologies for the lack of posts recently. Most of you will know I was in hospital this week and my work has been focused on today's shows so was all under wraps!!

As you have just seen we had some great goodies to work with I just ran out of time!!!

Its Create and Craft's 10th birthday so first up Happy Birthday......

....then I played with distress inks and Heartfelt Creations stamps
....Then it was time to get the medium out with Chloe's wedding stamps...
...then back to distress inks and gilding wax ....I promise !! this pic doesn't do that bit justice....
....Then some SUPERB new stamps from Art Journey (click for link) for this one....
.....inspiration from a great film with Designs by Ryn water droplets (more awesome new raindrops designs available here)
....and then to finish up i used the new Clarity Lesson Kit... combined with the garden mask

Yet again the whole DT has done a fantastic job, I am sure you will agree and we hope you all enjoyed today's show !!

I am off to play with the masks I didn't get round to using for today's shows. Have a happy Friday and a great weekend!!

Crafty cheers for now

Love and hugs

Art Flowers.....

Good Morning Peeps! How are we all??

I've been playing with the fab new Art Flower stamps from Sam Poole again over the Easter weekend

I really do sooooooooooooooo lurve this stamp set. it is so completely versatile. Today I have kept it all modern and funky basing these two cards on the same background.

I seem to be having a "clean" phase with design and I love the monochrome trend and but fancied a wee splash of colour with this one!

This second one takes a card template from the new Hougie Book and this time its Copics and multi layering that add interest....plus it folds flat!!!!

Right only a quick pitstop today and probably for the next couple of weeks as I am busy with DT work and am a guest on the NHS merry go round on and off.!!! Grrrrr

Anyway - enjoy the rest of your week!!

Clarity challenge #2

Well Happy bank Holiday!!!

Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits. its that time of the month again!
The second clarity challenge is here!

We had such an amazing response to our first challenge - a great range of fantastic artwork. Congratulations to you all, I am so pleased you have all enjoyed it so much!

So here we go with this months challenge!!

IN THE GARDEN.

This time we'd like to see what you can create with any of Clarity's flowers/trees/gardening stamps - the world is your oyster, or should that be the garden is your canvas!!

This Card uses the Poppies in Bloom, Grasses 1, Grasses 2 and the Letter box kit.

I fancied a softer take on the monochrome look.....more mindful of Spring and light nights. (ha ha one out of two isn't bad as the snow photo shows!!)  I went with my favourite colour purple and using an oval aperture made from copy paper (had to be freehand as unfortunately my dies were either too small or too large - typical!!!) I stamped a wee frame before stamping and colouring with Copics.

The sentiment is a quote by Henri Matisse, its one that regularly appears in my art journals. The book end card is an enlarged version from the new Hougie Book 3

I hope this gives you just a little inspiration (Go on - leave a comment if so - or just say Hi lol!) but please do check out all the other fantastic ideas over at the Challenge Blog

(Just a reminder though please check THE RULES - there aren't millions but this challenge is ONLY for CLARITY STAMPS use of any other will render your entry ineligible)

We are really looking forward to seeing yet more of your great work this month.

Let your Garden Grow.....happy challenging' !!!
