A Hazy Shade of Clarity Winter.......

Well Jack Frost is on the tellybox and also well and truly nipping at our noses and toeses this weekend!!! The Christmas Light hunt is underway here, Felixmogs has polished off her 2nd day of her advent calender and is sat on the window sill watching the birds on the tree and I have a lovely glass of mulled wine to keep me warm.

The beautiful pastel shades in the sky made me think its about time I shared this festive card.

A couple of weeks ago I was highly honoured to be asked help an exceptionally talented friend out with a card for one of her classes using Clarity stamps.

So this is what I created........a sparkly (hard to catch in these photos!) winter scene. I hoped to keep it simple but I thought I would challenge the ladies with the little hand sketched pathway !!

We used the skeleton trees, cottage stamp and mini leaves set to create this card and given I had a backdrop of a childrens party one day and full blown karaoke the next I think we managed amazingly well !!!

Much merriment, fun and one or two curse words were had but I think in the end the ladies were pleased with all their efforts and hard work. All the cards looked fabulous !!!

Right its really time I got back to the tinsel and twinkle search......so thanks for popping by. Stay warm (Mum is on her way down as her heating has packed in!) and keep crafting!!

Cosy crafty cheers for now

PaperArtsy Playday.....

Afternoon Folks !

How are we all?

Well I should be making my way to a hospital appointment right now but little miss Hyacynth Hyundai is sat on the drive very poorly with herself hoping the very nice man from the RAC can make her better when he gets here ! So I thought I would kill this wait with a quick post.

Last week myself and the lovely Maria Simms got together for a play day with our stash from the NEC and this tag was one of the outcomes

The tag background was created using crackle glaze and the fabuloso-um-a-diddy fresco finish acrylics from PaperArtsy www.paperartsy.co.uk  which come in all lovely scrumptious colours and a range of finishes. Some random stamping with Clarity Holly finished the background and the hexagonal wood chips and then it all got a bit funky !! I decided to stamp using distress stains and one of the lovely new Lynn Perella Christmas stamp sets which was also from PaperArtsy.

When I did stamp the lady the distress stain seemed to resist the acrylic background and gave me a lovely soft watercolouresque type image! Not planned but a happy accident!! (did think of calling this post H is for How D'I Do That??? lol)  Loved it so I clear embossed it in UTEE and added some defining highlights in white acrylic!! The tag was finished with Treasure Gold metallic wax.

The washi tape Christmas tree (yes it is a tree I promise!!) was a technique I picked up from this months Scrap365 magazine. Although I am no scrapbooker I do love this magazine for all its tips, tricks and techniques

I hope you like my littl' offering today I would love to hear back from you! I have some exciting things to look forward too this week which I will reveal soon I hope! I am off now as Mr RAC man is here!

B is for......Buttons and Butterflies

Morning all!! Whoops a daisy!! Well slap my hand and call me naughty! I apologise for not being on here nearly as often as I should of.......pls Santa dont ignore me for being a naughty girl!!! I will make a new years resolution I promise to blog more regularly!

Anyway enough pathetic grovelling lol.

Today's project is from last Sundays Splogical Inspirations show I began playing with the canvas and my acrylics with the intention of making a hanger! Hmmmmmm not quite eh?? lol best laid plans and all!! All the canvas are pre loaded with gesso so it was straight in with base coats of beige and pale blues

On the bigger canvas' I took the tri butterfly mask and simply blended the pale blue and turquoise over the top with a good ol' kitchen sponge!

For the smaller canvas' I free painted turquoise circles on the blue and then took the swirl part of the same mask and applied silver Ferro paste through the mask for more dimension.

After that it was free wheel time with the buttons, tim holtz muse tokens and wooden embellishments some of which I stamped using memento cottage ivy to add a little extra interest.

I hope u like this offering would love to hear your feedback!! Take care stay safe

crafty cheers for now!

I is for Ivory and I do

Good afternoon everyone! Hows things? All quiet here even Felix is asleep......least she's not in a carrier bag on the bed this time!! As I havent been around for a few days I thought I would share a quick comission from earlier this week.....It seems wedding cards are still the order of the day..... I have 3 more coming up on the books the next couple of weeks.

This as you can see is a simple classic design in white, ivory and gold to build a layered "cake" The background uses Kanban patterened acetate but if you want to make it more individual u could create our own using heat resistant acetate and white embossing powders or cotton white Stayz on.

To finish I used charms from tim holtz and creative expressions to add a vintage feel and topped the card off with the personal details in die cuts and the much maligned peel offs!!!

Anyway I hope you like. Have a good weekend and take care.

Clarity Christmas for Crafts Beautiful.....

Good morning everyone. How is Friday finding you?? I have a lot of crafting on this weekend so here is a quick post of one I made earlier!!! lol oh I have always wanted to say that!!! How sad am I....answers on a postcard....or not lol!!!

Earlier this year i was honoured to be invited by Barbara Gray to complete a christmas card for her regular article in Crafts beautiful using the wire range of stamps. I stamped and embossed the trees on a mix of white/silver card using a mix of inks and embossing powders. They were all cut out and then arranged around the sparkly marianne Village 2 die cut.....just seen bottom left!

The background hill is acetate covered in diamond sparkle medium as is the star which uses my nemesis craft product..... heat resistant acetate!! We do NOT normally get on!!

The Holly is real holly out of my Garden dipped in Versamark and embossed in Shabby white and aged silver!!!

Well I hope you have a good day best dash will be back next week And I hope I will have a little Blog candy to give away!!

Crafty cheers for now!!

VINTAGE "RAIN DEER"

Hi everyone Happy Thursday!! I hope I find you all well! What a miserable horrid day, myself and Felix are holed up in our craft room, I am still working on decorating that altered mirror with Sam Poole's steam punk christmas set and Felix is alternating between lying over everything I am using or snoring at my feet!!

Anyway I found time to make this little vintage card using Indigo Blu Looks like Rain Deer and Here comes Santa stamps ...... the flying santa is from Inkylicious!

Also used on this project were kaisercraft Just Believe 12 x 12 and the free papers from the latest molly bloom magazine kit.I took the 6 x 6 central panel from the just believe and created the scene using tea dye and vintage photo

The large stag is stamped on cream card and decoupaged onto the background and then the snowflake toppers were stamped on cream paper and fixed over the co-ordinating Molly Bloom papers.

The rosette is also made from the Molly Bloom papers and the centre is inked in Adirondak Pesto. While the "ribbon tails" are just hand cut pieces of left over scrap paper......see I am even getting economical lol!!
Finally the wording was stamped onto the die cut in Pesto. My trademark 'ribbon' has given way to this bow created from the off cut paper strip from the 12 x 12 and embellished it with a nod to Bling with the brad!!

Hope you have enjoyed todays offering I'd love to hear your feedback and would be delighted if you can spread the word about my Baby Blog!! Stay warm and safe over the weekend and I will see you again next week!!!

Crafty cheers for now!!

Ornamental noel

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday. I thought I would share a quick card I played with yesterday.

The card uses the Splodgeaway Holly mask to create the background and a customised blend of adirondak Pesto and distress pine needles. On the toppper I used tea dye and vintage photo then the whole lot was spritzed with perfect pearls Blue smoke.

The stamped image is the Ornamental Fairy from the wonderful Ryn Tanaka at designs by Ryn (www.designsbyryn.com) She has the most wonderful range of stamps next on my purchase list are the really different origami animals!

This image was simply coloured in Copics and finished off with Glamour Dust and ice diamond on the cuffs.
To complete the card I used Tim Holtz Vintage Noel die and my trademark ribbon.
I have lots more ideas for this stamp so I am off to play some more......

I hope you like todays offering have a happy Friday and I will see you all over the weekend.....hopefully with a little offering using Sam Poole's steampunk Christmas!!

Crafty cheers for now!!!

Autumn Evenings

Evening everyone. Hope you are well? As my first official blogpost I thought I would share with you a nice Autumnal card. The card was created using IndigoBlu's Tree-mendous stamp which was stamped using Luminarte Radiant Rain, The background was also created with Luminate and then I used Morris Dance Mega Flakes to embellish. Clear dew drops were inked in metallic alcohol inks and as you will soon discover a final ribbon flourish added! you can't beat the old ribbon!! Hope you like tonight's offering.......time to relax and enjoy some mulled wine and plan more crafty madness !!
