The Shadow of the Wind Tag

Afternoon from a chilly blustery Cheshire :-)

Just having a quick cuppa and cuddle with Fe - she's a bit crabby today coz of  me starving her after an upset tummy overnight

I thought this tag would be very appropriate for todays weather - It's one made for a swap group I belong too and the theme this month was Book Titles.

This one is based on the fabulous Gothic Mystery novel, The Shadow of the wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It's my favourite book of all time :-) and the Cemetery of Forgotton Books plays a central role.

I used masks from SplodgeAway on the background and the books come from Sheena Douglas's Knowledge stamp set - part of the fabulous little bit Magical range. The books are all embossed and decopaged :-)

Hope you have liked today's offering.
Thanks for stopping by - your support and comments mean so much :-)

Have a great sunday - hope you are tucked up crafting - I am busy designing some 100th Birthday cards for an order.

Stay safe and warm

Crafty cheers for now

Watercolour Inkylicious.......

Evening all - shock horror yes I am back!!!

Apologies for the extended absence - I seem to be going through a nightmare creative block at the Mo! Nowt works/wen it does its pants/just cant come up with owt original!!

Anyway these stamps have been sat on my desk for a couple of weeks now n finally an idea landed!!

The stamps are all from Inkylicious except the sentiment which is Stampers anon.

The background is created by applying distress ink direct to an acrylic block n then spritzing thoroughly before applying to cardstock - in this case watercolour paper for a really soft image

Anyway - Thanks for stopping by - hope you likes :-) !!
Have a great weekend ..... n hopefully the block has shifted now....

Crafty cheers

ATC's part deux.....

Good evening blogworld!! How has your hump day been?

Hopefully not to stressful - its certainly been wild here......the garden fence has yet again gone for a wander across the cricket field at the back - lost count how many times now this year!! I'll go n retrieve it in June I think - might be calmer by then!!

Just thought I'd stop by with a few more ATC's ...... I have had a bit of an addiction at the moment lol!!! I love how you can practice all kinds of patterns and techniques with them - much like tags.

As before I kept to set colour themes - this one was mainly modern style - but I got to use some of my new CHA purchases from Art from the Heart with these :-) Funnily enough I love "catgirl" (much prefer that to her actual title of Racer girl!) by Brett Weldele  - available HERE

These were my new Stampers Anon stamps - I wanted to keep these subtle - though there is some bling embossing on top of the butterfly that was a nightmare to photo! Tiny glimpse bottom right....

Finally I went with an unusal colour scheme for me - Victorian Velvet and Mustard Seedwith accents of Black and white.....I actually quite like it! LOL

Right I best be off up to the Office again - need to crack on with some magazine work! Deadlines looming   :-)

Thanks for stopping by - lovely to see you!

Hels Sheridan weekend....

Good evening all :-) Hope Monday's been ok?

As many of you know I have just had a fabulous weekend in the North East with Hels. So today I thought I would share one of the makes from there.

We were working on an altered box canvas and we started off by paper piecing a canvas in Tim Holtz papers

Then we got all painty n Inky and added some dimension and stampy detail.....

.......next was the "fun" part ......as you well know me n making flowers....well doesnt go well lol.....
BUT.........

.....WE GOT ON!!!! (for 1 day only lol!!!) and then they got "blitzed" with lots of spray inky and along with lots of embellies.......this was the final piece!!!

We had a fab time with fab ladies and I can't wait to do it all again.......The techniques we used are so versatile they can be used for ahnything.......and I am sure they will!!

Thanks for stopping by - hope you liked the project!!
