"On trend" Birthdays with Creative Expressions and Clarity

Good morning all!

Here we are...........Friday!!!! Yipee!!!

Thought I'd have a break from Christmas today and instead showcase a few Birthday cards using some of the current trends......

First up is the fashion for all things Ombre ...

Ombre means shade/shadow in French and in crafting we use it to show a colour variation from light to dark and it is achieved with 2 or 3 similar colours and lots of smooth blending.

Next up is Splatter....

This card inspiration and technique were taken from Ali Johnson's article in this month's Craft Stamper - I thought it would be a great technique for those pesky men's cards......

Finally it's the still ever so popular CAS trend focusing on bright contrasting colours for a special occasion....

Thank you for stopping by :-)
Have a wonderful Friday.......off now for cuppa o'clock I think

Crafty Cheers for now

Boys and there toys......

Happy Saturday everyone!!

I am going to try and make up for my absence last week with a couple of extra posts this weekend!!

First off I thought I'd share a couple of fella's Birthday cards and they are both based on good old trains and travel...

This is a collage card  made up using several Creative Expressions sets of stamps and the Splodge Heart from the heart corners was used to create the gentle distress ink blending for the background. I have recreated this card in various guises n colourways since - I just love collage.

Next there's this 70th birthday card .....

...this time with a truly vintage theme. The age on the rosette was created using peel offs....aged embossing powder was melted in several layers over them and then the peel offs were lifted away before it had completely cooled. Was rather pleased with the texture it achieved. I know they are a really "uncool" but think "outside the box"  used in different ways they really can add to a project.

Have a great weekend whatever you have planned.

Call back and say Hi soon

Crafty cheers for now

Love

Rae
